Our current team have been together for 10 years and between us we have over 50 years of dental experience.
Anthony originally from Sunderland has lived in Newcastle for 30 years. He obtained his degree from Newcastle University in 1988 and immediately joined the Royal Navy on a short career commission. Of the 6 years spent in the Forces 3 years were spent in the Far East working for the Sultan of Brunei, looking after the dental care of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. On returning to England in 1992 Anthony finished his career at HMS Cochrane in Rosyth before joining Mayfield House Dental Practice in 1993, which had a well-respected reputation for providing high quality Private Dental Care. During the 90’s Anthony became a postgraduate vocational trainer, teaching newly qualified dentists within the Practice. Anthony has held teaching posts in both the department of restorative and prosthetic dentistry at Newcastle dental school. More recently he was a teacher on the Postgraduate Implant course at Newcastle University. Anthony has a special interest in Implant dentistry which he has been involved in for 30 years and anything restoratively challenging. Anthony has been running the local branch of the Association of dental implantology since 2000, he organises for local and international speakers to come to Newcastle to speak to like-minded dentists on Dental Implantology. Anthony likes to keep abreast of developments and has attended training courses in America, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Germany and Belgium as well as those in the UK His hobbies include road cycling in lycra, anything on 4 wheels including classic car restoration, gardening, DIY and walking his pooch.
Russel qualified from Newcastle Dental school in 2003 and has worked in several practices in the region. He has a special interest in offering high quality dentistry with a focus on implant dentistry and advanced restorative and cosmetic work. He has gained a Diploma in Implant dentistry and is a graduate of the Kois Centre in Seatle. Outside of Dentistry Russ enjoys time with his family and continuing education.
Denise qualified as a Dental hygienist in 1992. She held a teaching post mentoring students at Newcastle Dental hospital for 4 years. Denise has worked with the NHS and now exclusively works at Dental Solutions. Her focus is on treating gum disease rather than just cleaning teeth. Outside of work her interests include travel, gardening and walking her dog on the beach at Seahouses.
Caroline is a hygienist and therapist and qualified from Newcastle in 2015, she has additional skills over than of a dental hygienist, she is able to take radiographs, impressions, extractions on children and simple restorative work. She is a certified provider of tooth whitening. Outside of work Caroline enjoys her family, walking her dog Biggie, hiking, yoga, keeping fit and socialising.
Leanne Rowley qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2000. In 2005 she gained a distinction in the dental nurse sedation qualification and was awarded the national Roche award for best candidate. In 2007 Leanne gained promotion and became Practice Manager. Her varied interests include keeping fit, following football, travelling & listening to music.
Claire Normand qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1994. She worked for several years as a Nurse but now enjoys the administrative and reception side of our practice. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, music festivals and Pilates.
Christine qualified in 1985 and has worked in the hospital setting as well as general practice. Outside of work she enjoys keep fit and has completed the great north run over 12 times, she also enjoys cooking and baking.
Emily joined us as an apprentice and has successfully completed her training and has proved to be an invaluable addition to the team. Outside of work Emily enjoys socialising, watching sport particularly Newcastle Falcons, travelling to music concerts.
Molly is our newest member of the team and is currently undergoing an apprenticeship to qualify as a dental nurse. Although only being with us a short time she is making a great start to her new career. Outside of work Molly is also a Barista and works in a coffee shop on the sea front at Whitley Bay, she also enjoys looking after her pets and spending time with friends.
